As the founding and managing partner of The Jones Firm, Mr. Jones focuses his practice on the transactional aspects of entertainment and media law, film production law, sports law, fashion law and advising mid-stage companies and start-up ventures. Mr. Jones’ clients have sold a combined 100 million units worldwide, have won Grammys, have been nominated for Academy Awards, won Olympic Gold Medals, NBA, NFL and MLB championships. Mr. Jones’ clients include content creators of all types, including film production and distribution companies, Internet content providers, software developers, magazine and newspaper publishers, authors, producers, directors, recording artists, composers, songwriters, actors, designers, professional athletes, sporting associations, entertainment executives, film & music festivals, real estate developers and other businesses in the communications, media, entertainment, merchandising and retail industries. Mr. Jones has built a niche for constructing deals and forging partnerships in difficult situations and fostering creative solutions for creative clients.

Mr. Jones is a skilled attorney with a staunch reputation in federal litigation, commodities, oil and gas, securities and franchise law. Known for his strategic thinking and precision in complex legal environments, Mr. Jones represents clients in high-stakes federal disputes and provides counsel to emerging and established franchise businesses on regulatory compliance, structuring, and dispute resolution. He is committed to delivering tailored legal solutions with integrity, efficiency, and sharp legal insight.

Internationally and domestically, Mr. Jones has been successful in securing and negotiating several types of agreements in the entertainment, art and fashion industries, including content creation agreements, 360 recording deals, publishing, sub-publishing and co-publishing agreements, staff producer agreements, above and below-the-line film agreements, an assortment of agreements relating to the distribution of content digitally, TV host agreements, production and producing agreements and agreements related to sponsorships and endorsements. By continuing to expand the horizons for The Jones Firm, Mr. Jones has gained valuable experience in doing a variety of entertainment transactions in the UK, Asia, Africa and Germany.

In servicing his clients, Mr. Jones has been instrumental in helping build businesses by drafting Private Placement Memorandums for films and start-ups, drafting convertible debt note arrangements, restructured operation agreements, corporate buyouts, capital contribution agreements and catalog acquisitions. Mr. Jones has prepared numerous cease and desist letters, negotiated settlement agreements, NCNDA, confidentiality agreements, end user agreements for Internet content providers, including drafting and negotiation of complex software license agreements. Mr. Jones has also successful procured client trademarks and copyrights to protect client’s interests.

With a background as a former college athlete and a long-standing advocate for creators and innovators, Mr. Jones brings practical insight and deep industry knowledge to every matter. He is also an adjunct professor of law at the University at Buffalo School of Law, where he teaches Entertainment Law.

Recognized as one of the National Bar Association’s “Top 40 Under 40,” and a recipient of the GOLD Award from Daemen University, Mr. Jones frequently speaks on business, legal strategy, and entrepreneurship in global forums.
